Mcelwain Finishes Course

Marine Pfc. Brian P. McElwain, son of John P. and Kelly McElwain of Bel Air, has completed the Basic Engineer Equipment Operators Course.

During the course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C., students received instruction on engineer equipment operation, maintenance management, engineer organization, decontamination of heavy equipment, night operations, equipment recovery, special tools and camouflage.

The 1991 graduate of Bel Air High School joined the Marine Corps in January 1991.


Army Reserve Pvt. Christine A.Sanzone has completed a food-service specialist course at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

The course trained personnel to prepare and serve food in large and small quantities. Students received training in baking, field kitchen operations, and the operation of an Army diningfacility.

She is the daughter of Bernard and Karen Sanzone, of Jarrettsville.

The private is a 1990 graduate of North Harford High School.


Spec. John J. Philistine has completeda U.S. Army primary leadership course.

Students received trainingin supervisory skills, leadership prin

ciples, and small unit training techniques essential to a first-line supervisor in a technical or administrative environment.

Philistine is an aircraft armament/missile systems mechanic at Katterbach Kaserne, Germany.

A 1986 graduate of Joppatowne High School, he is the son of James and SharellePhilistine of Joppatowne.


Navy Fireman Apprentice John J. Kraft, son of Jean Lipsey of Aberdeen, has reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, home-ported in Norfolk, Va.

The 1990 graduate of North Harford High Schooljoined the Navy in December 1990.
