Danielle's Darling charges from way back for Laurel win

LAUREL -- Danielle's Darling rallied from a far-back third to win yesterday's $22,000 feature in the Laurel Race Course slop.

After a half-mile in the 1 1/16-mile race, the 3-year-old filly was some 12 lengths behind favored Here Comes Susie, but still had four others beaten. After the favorite and her chaser, Miss Champagne, grew weary, Danielle's Darling led the pack overtaking them.

Danielle's Darling, ridden by Clarence "Jo Jo" Ladner, won by1 1/2 lengths over Springdale. She paid $12.20 to win after finishing in 1 minute, 47 3/5 seconds.

Ladner came right back to cap the late Daily Double (1&1) when Oh Say Neat, racing on two day's rest, won the finale. The gimmick paid $141.20.
