Police today continued to search for the killer of a South Baltimore man whose body was found last night lying on the front steps of a rowhouse on Washington Boulevard.

Homicide Detective David Peckoo said Kevin Gambrill, 22, of the 1200 block of Bayard St., died of multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

About 12:45 a.m. today, police responding to a report of a shooting found Gambrill's body lying face down on the front steps of 919 Washington Blvd.

Residents told police that they heard several gunshots coming from the front of 919 but did not see anyone flee from the scene.

Peckoo said Gambrill's jewelry was still on his body and that there were no signs that he was slain during a robbery.

He also said there was no evidence that Gambrill's death was drug-related.

Several residents were taken to police headquarters for interviews but no one has been arrested thus far.
