Va. Tech, Clemson cancel '92 game

October 16, 1991

CLEMSON, SOUTH CAROLINA — CLEMSON, S.C. -- Clemson will play Division I-AA Tennessee-Chattanooga instead of Virginia Tech next season in football, a university official said yesterday.

Virginia Tech asked to be let out of its contract that calls for the Hokies to play the Tigers on Sept. 19, Clemson sports information director Tim Bourret said. The change will enable Virginia Tech to play an entire Big East Conference schedule in 1992.
