Several End Training

Service notes

October 13, 1991

Several area servicemen recently completed training. They are:

* Air National Guard Airman Bryan E. Hall, Airman Michael Cole and Airman Jonathan A. Wendricks, basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, they studied Air Force mission,organization and customs and received special training in human relations.

Hall is the son of Vernal E. and Helen I. Hall, of Street.

Cole is the son of Doris A. Cole, of Havre de Grace and a 1989 graduate of Havre de Grace High School.

Wendricks is the son of Frederick and Bernadette Wendricks of Edgewood. He is a 1991 graduate of Edgewood High School.

* Marine Pfc. Mark D. Burkhardt and Pvt. Roy J. Brinegar, recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, introduced to typical military daily routine and personal and professional standards.

Burkhardt is the son of Mary E. Marsh of Edgewood and a 1990 graduate of Edgewood High School.

Brinegar is the son of Roy J. and Ruth E. Brinegar of Fallston. He is a 1988 graduate of Fallston High School.

* Marine Pfc. Jeffrey B. Franklin, son of Robert and Myrtle Lar

son of Aberdeen, the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Students received classroom instruction and participated in field exercises involving infantry tactics, construction and camouflage of fighting positions and the use of mines, demolitions and intracompany communications equipment.

The 1990 graduate of Aberdeen High School joined the Marine Corps in January 1991.

REARDON PROMOTED

Mark J. Reardon has been promoted in the U.S. Army to the rank of major.

He is an armor officer with the U.S. Total Army Personnel Command, in Alexandria, Va.

Reardon isthe son of Edith and John Reardon, Havre de Grace.

He graduated from Havre de Grace Senior High School in 1975, and from Loyola College in 1979.

MITZEL SERVES IN VA.

Marine Sgt. Marty R. Mitzel, son of Richard M. Mitzel of Darlington, recently reported for duty with Headquarters Battalion, Henderson Hall, Arlington, Va.

He joined theMarine Corps in February 1982.

FARNSCHLADER IS A MARINE

Marine Pvt. David L. Farnschlader, son of Phillip E. and Maria Farnschlader, of Aberdeen, recently completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

During the training cycle, recruits are taught the basics of battlefield survival, introduced to typical military daily routine and personal and professional standards.

Heis a 1989 graduate of Aberdeen High School.

REEDY COMPLETES TRAINING

Navy Lt. Edward A. Reedy, son of Vivian Reedy, of Havre de Grace,recently completed the Officer Indoctrination School at the Naval Education and Training Center, Newport, R.I.

During the course, students are prepared for duty in the naval staff field corresponding to their civilian profession.

The 1979 graduate of St. Mary's College, and 1990 graduate of the University of Maryland, joined the Navy inMay 1991.

AIRMAN EARNS HONORS

Navy Airman Apprentice Salvatore R.Alaimo, son of Salvatore R. Alaimo Jr. of Abingdon, was named an honor graduate of the Aviation Electrician's Mate Course.

During the course at the Naval Air Technical Training Center, Naval Air Station Memphis, Millington, Tenn., students receive train

ing in electrical theory and circuitry which will prepare them to perform basic electrical maintenance on jet aircraft.

The 1989 graduate of Harford Technical High School joined the Navy in November 1990.

OFFICER REPORTS FOR DUTY

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class David H. Watson, son of Darlene Weatherstein of Bel Air, has reported for duty with the aircraft carrier George Washington's pre-commissioning unit.

The 1988 graduate of Bel Air High School, he joined the Navy in Sept. 1988.

His wife, Jennifer, is the daughter of Patricia Cizmadia, also of Bel Air.
