Pvt. Gregory J. Hinkleman, son of Robert and Dolores Hinkleman of Glen Burnie, has completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynseville, Mo.

JOHNSON MADE SERGEANT

David Johnson, son of Delmar D. and Kathleen A. Johnson of Stevensville, has been promoted to the rank of technical sergeant in the Air Force.

Johnson is a radio communications analysis technician at RAF Chicksands in Bedford, England.

He is a 1974 graduate of Severna Park High School.

STONEBURNER GRADUATES

Marine Pfc. Clifton E. Stoneburner, son of Clifton M. and Mary T. Stoneburner of Annapolis, was recently meritoriously promoted to his present rank upon graduation from recruit training.

Private Stoneburner received the early promotion at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., for his superior performance during his training cycle.

He is a 1987 graduate of Annapolis High School.

HUMPHREY MADE PFC.

Marine Pfc. Sean J. Humphrey, son of Joan A. Savage of Annapolis, has been promoted tohis present rank while serving with Headquarters Battalion, Henderson Hall, Arlington, Va.

A 1990 graduate of Annapolis Senior High School, Humphrey joined the Marine Corps in January.

MILLER PROMOTED

Marine Pfc. Christopher S. Miller, son of Sharon H. McLain of Glen Burnie, has been promoted to his present rank while serving with Marine Corps Detachment, U.S. Army Armor Center, Fort Knox, Ky.

A 1988 graduate of Mount St. Joseph High School, Miller joined the Marine Corps in February.

ABEL BACK FROM MIDEAST

Navy Ensign Warren R. Abel, son of Warren R. and Karen K. Abel of Edgewater, returned in Augustfrom deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm.

Abel served aboard the frigate USS Whipple, whose home port is Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

A 1986 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indiannapolis and 1990 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he joined the Navy in May 1990.

BROWN RETURNS TO U.S.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Norman E. Brown, son of Carol W. and Norman E. Brown Sr. of Annapolis, returned last month from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm.

Brown served aboard the guided missle cruiser USS Texas, whose home port is Alameda, Calif.

A 1986 graduate of Annapolis High School, he joined the Navy in September 1986.

ROBINSON GRADUATES

Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice EdwardH. Robinson, son of Edward H. and Edith H. Robinson of Sherwood Forest, recently graduated from Coast Guard Academy Recruit Training Center at Cape May, N.J.

Robinson joined the Coast Guard in June.

FINKGIVEN SILVER WINGS

Second Lt. George F. Fink, son of Charles R. and Bina B. Fink of Traceys Landing, has received silver wings upon graduation from pilot training at Vance Air Force Base, Enid, Okla.

Fink is a 1984 graduate of Southern Senior High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park.

MANSUR FINISHES TRAINING

Coast Guard Seaman Kauai K. Mansur, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Mansur of Annapolis, recently graduated from Coast Guard Recruit Training at Cape May, N.J.

Mansur joined the Coast Guard Reserves inJune.

HUDSON GRADUATES

Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class George W. Hudson, son of Lana L. Walker of Glen Burnie, has graduated from the airlift aircraft maintenance specialist course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita, Texas.

The airman is a 1988 graduate of MarylandHigh in Easton.

CHRISTENSEN GRADUATES

Navy Lt. Cmdr. Robert D. Christensen recently graduated from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I.

His wife, Therese, is the daughter of William and Joan Kvetkasof Annapolis.

A 1980 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and 1990 graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago, he joined the Navy in September 1974.

REEB A PETTY OFFICER

Jason M. Reeb, son of retired Chief Warrant Officer 4th Class James N. and Virginia I. Reeb of Severn, has been promoted to the rank of Navy petty officer 2nd class.

Reeb is a cryptologic technician at Naval Security Group Activity, Misawa Air Force Base, Japan.

He serves with his brother, Petty Officer 2nd Class John Reeb, at Misawa Air Force Base. His eldest brother, Warrant Officer 1st Class James N. Reeb II is a helicopter pilot with the Maryland Army National Guard.

Reeb is a 1987 graduate of Meade High School.

PARRUCCI GETS AIR MEDAL

Navy Chief Petty Officer Gregory G. Parrucci, son of Anthony and Lillie M. Parrucci of Laurel,has received the U.S. Air Medal.

Parrucci was cited for meritorious achievement in aerial flight as a naval flight officer for the S-3b Viking aircraft, while serving at Air Anti-Submarine Squadron 24, homeported in Jacksonville, Fla.

The 1974 graduate of Laurel SeniorHigh School joined the Navy in February 1978.

PARNELL AWARDED MEDAL

Air Force Senior Airman Charles S. Parnell, son Barbara L. Parnellof Pasadena and Joseph D. Parnell Sr. of Magazine, Ark., has been decorated with the Good Conduct Medal.

The medal is awarded for exemplary conduct while in the active service of the United States.
