Chesapeake Bay watermen to show their skills

The life of a Chesapeake Bay waterman can be observed at first hand by those who attend "Tilghman Island Day" on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can learn about clamming, oystering, fishing, crabbing, crab picking, oyster dredging and oyster shucking. They can join in games and watch a skipjace race, a boat docking contest or a work boat race. Arts and crafts, live music, boat building exhibits and an auction and home-cooked Chesapeake Bay seafood are other attractions. A donation of $4 is requested to benefit the Tilghman Volunteer Fire Company. Take U.S. 50 to Easton to Route 322 (Easton Parkway) to Route 33 through St. Michaels to Tilghman Island.
