Injury to Blast's Fraser is merely a strain

October 11, 1991|By Sandra McKee

Tests have shown that Blast All-Star defender Iain Fraser does not have a hernia.

"It appears to be an abdominal muscle strain that is slow to heal," said Blast vice president Drew Forrester. Fraser will try to avoid putting any strain on the muscle in the next five or six days.

"We're hoping he can try to kick the ball and take part in practice by late next week," Forrester said. "And we think, if everything goes well, he'll be OK for the first game [Oct. 19] against Dallas."
