Skipjacks tonight

October 11, 1991

Opponent: St. John's Maple Leafs

Site: Baltimore Arena, 7:30

Radio: WITH (1230 AM)

Outlook: The Skipjacks are living up to preseason predictions by coach Rob Laird, who said his team would do a lot of scoring (13 goals in 2 games). But Baltimore is giving up too many goals (11 lTC in 2 games) to suit Laird. RW Reggie Savage (3 goals, 1 assist) and LW Todd Hlushko (3 goals, 1 assist) lead the scoring, and D Mark Ferner has 4 assists. St. John's (which was New Market last season) has three former Skipjacks: D Rob Mendel, D Joel Quenneville (player/coach for Maple Leafs) and RW Kevin McClelland). St. John's lost its opener, 6-4, to the Bears in Hershey, Pa., on Wednesday night. RW Andrew McKim (1 goal, 2 assists) led the Maple Leafs.
