EDMONDSON (3-0) AT NO. 6 PATTERSON (4-0) Time: Tomorrow, 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: For the second week in a row, Edmondson is involved in a showdown for first place in the MSA B Conference. Patterson and Edmondson are 2-0 in the conference. Last week the Redskins routed Northwestern, 36-8. Edmondson ranks fourth in the area in scoring (32.7) led by alternating QBs Maurice Blanding and Michael Dawkins. Blanding has thrown for 221 yards and two TDs. Sean Robinson has 10 catches, five for TDs. Patterson also ranks among the area leaders in scoring (29.5). QB Buddy Edmond has thrown for 626 yards and four TDs. Ronny Green has 13 catches for 236 yards and three TDs. RB William Rosenberger has run for 334 yards and six scores. A key matchup will be either of Patterson's talented DBs Green or Avon Paul against Robinson.

NORTHWESTERN (2-1) VS. SOUTHERN-B (3-1) Time: Tomorrow, 3:30 p.m.

Site: Swann Park

* Outlook: Both teams suffered their first losses last week but remain in the MSA B Conference title picture. Northwestern is 2-1 in the conference and Southern is 1-1. Northwestern lost to Edmondson, 36-8, and Southern was upset by Carver, 12-6. Northwestern is hurting. Three starters, including star RB Kevin Ruff (315 yards, three TDs) are out with injuries. Southern RB Chris Lewis has rushed for 460 yards and four TDs. Southern is off to its best start since 1987.

FOREST PARK (2-2) AT NO. 11 POLY (1-2) Time: Tomorrow, 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: Neither of these teams wants to fall too far off the pace in the MSA A Conference. Forest Park (2-1 in the league) is in fifth place while Poly (0-2) is in ninth. The Engineers are struggling, particularly on offense where they have scored just three TDs. Both of the team's starting LBs Derrick Odoms (knee) and Ray Wilson (knee) are out indefinitely with injuries. Forest Park has been led by RB Rentate Sterrette, who has gained 507 yards and four TDs. The real battle will feature Forest Park's huge offensive line vs. Poly's quick defensive line.

NO. 15 RANDALLSTOWN (3-2) VS. NO. 18 EVT (5-0) Time: Tomorrow, 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: Randallstown has lost its last two games to fall to fourth place in Baltimore County's 3A-2A division and put its state playoff hopes in doubt. The Rams have managed just 21 points in the last two games, although RB Donte Boyd is the area's third-leading rusher with 632 yards and five TDs. Eastern Vo Tech's Darryl Ray has led his team to a surprising start with 521 yards rushing and eight TDs. The Mavericks rank among the area leaders in offense (25.2 points per game) and defense (5.6).

ST. PAUL'S (4-1) AT SOUTHWESTERN (3-1) Time: Tomorrow, 3:30 p.m.

Outlook: This is the top MSA C Conference matchup this week. Severn (3-0) leads the conference followed by four teams with 2-1 league records, including St. Paul's and Southwestern. St. Paul's ranks among the area leaders in offense (29.4 points per game) and defense (6.6). St. Paul's RB John Solter has rushed for 182 yards and two TDs. RB Ben Strutt has scored five times and alternating QBs Joe Unitas and Chas Offutt have each passed for two scores.

NO. 4 C.M. WRIGHT (5-0) AT NO. 14 EDGEWOOD (4-1) Time: Tomorrow, 7 p.m.

Outlook: C. Milton Wright (4-0 in Harford County) beat Edgewood (3-1) for the first time in school history last year, 7-6. C.M. Wright is first in the area in scoring (42.2) and third in defense (4.8). For C. Milton Wright, QB Jeff Hawks has passed for 615 yards and seven TDs and Chris Gill has rushed for 429 yards and five scores. TE Mike Weichert has six TDs and RB Dan Gartrell has seven. Edgewood is led by RB Lawrence Worthington, who has rushed for 382 yards and six TDs.

PERRY HALL (3-2) AT NO. 20 WOODLAWN (4-1) Time: Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m.

Site: Catonsville Community College

* Outlook: These teams are tied for second place in Baltimore County's 3A-4A Division (3-1 in the league) behind EVT. Perry Hall has won three straight since a surprising loss to Parkville in Week No. 2. Last week Parkville upset Woodlawn, 8-7. Perry Hall ranks ninth in the area in scoring (29.6) led by QB Danny Brown, who has passed for 349 yards and one TD. Woodlawn's defense, led by LB Devalin Anderson, ranks sixth in the area (5.8). RBs Omar Johnson (212 yards) and Bruce Brown (194) lead the offense.

MEADE (3-2) AT NO. 13 SEVERNA PARK (3-2) Time: Tomorrow, 7:30 p.m.

Outlook: This is a pivotal Anne Arundel County 4A matchup. Meade (2-2 league) hopes to halt the Falcons' (3-1) annual midseason surge. Severna Park is 17-8 since 1989 despite starting out 1-2, 0-2 and 1-2. RB John Jennings has run for 479 yards and QB Tim Bowerman has passed for five TDs to lead the Falcons. Meade has the area's leading rusher, RB Kenny Walker, who has run for 701 yards and eight TDs. Option QB John Oxendine directs a wishbone attack that averages 29.8 points per game (eighth in the area).

NO. 7 CITY (3-0) AT NO. 12 GILMAN (3-1) Time: Saturday, 1 p.m.
