Leroy D. Bearry Retired steel worker

Services for Leroy D. Bearry, 64, a retired steel worker, will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Patterson Funeral Home in Perryville, Cecil County.

Mr. Bearry died of heart failure Friday at his home in Port Deposit, where he has lived since moving from Dundalk in 1989.

Mr. Bearry was born in Sparrows Point and attended public schools there. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater. He returned to Sparrows Point after the war and worked 34 years at Bethlehem Steel Corp., tending the open hearths.

Mr. Bearry retired January 1987.

Mr. Bearry enjoyed sailing for pleasure, but he also worked part time for Jackson Marine Sales, delivering boats purchased from the Northeast yacht company to customers along the water.

He married Delores Aversa in December 1978, and the couple moved to Port Deposit in Cecil County. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bearry's survivor's include his sister, Mary Dieter of Baltimore, and several nieces and nephews.
