An 81-year-old man was found dead in his East Baltimore home yesterday morning by police who were checking a report of forced entry at the address in the 2000 block of East North Avenue.
Willie Gilmore's daughter called police after she and a cousin went by her father's house and saw signs that the rear door had been forced open, officers said.
Police entered the house shortly after 11 a.m. and found Mr. Gilmore dead in his bedroom.
Police said that there were no signs of injury, but that an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.
Because of the evidence of forced entry, they said, they were treating the death as a homicide with robbery as a possible motive.
;/ They had no witness or suspects last night.
