A 15-year-old youth was killed and a 19-year-old was wounded in a shooting early today that police said was drug-related.
A third man was wounded shortly afterward in a separate shooting. The shootings occurred in northwest Baltimore.
Police said Roscoe Jackson, of the 5200 block of Wilton Heights Ave., was pronounced dead about 2 a.m. in the 3600 block of W. Garrison Ave. Sgt. Thomas Bannon of the Northwestern District said the youth and Edward Dorsey, 19, of Reisterstown, were near a telephone at Garrison and Beaufort avenues when two men came up behind them and shot them. Jackson was shot once in the head and declared dead at the scene, Bannon said. Dorsey, who ran when the shooting began, was shot once in the arm. He was treated at Sinai Hospital and released.
Police said Jackson and Dorsey had beepers, cash and pieces of gold jewelry in their possession, which led investigators to believe the shootings were drug-related.
