Food feasts for fun
Get ready to enjoy the food-related activities around the Baltimore area in the next couple of weeks. Look for:
* The annual Fells Point Fun Festival, a potpourri of food, crafts and entertainment, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Broadway Market Square.
* Local restaurant chefs will compete for the best Maryland crab soup in the Old Bay Crab Soup Stakes to be held noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Harborplace amphitheater.
* Chocoholics should mark their calendars for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 17-19 for the Chocolate Festival at Lexington Market, with cooking demonstrations, discount specials and free samples.
* The weekly Baltimore Farmers' Market will get into the spirit of the maritime festival with a Baltimore on the Bay Farmers' Market Day starting at 9 a.m. Oct. 20 at Holliday and Saratoga streets under the Jones Falls Expressway.
