Azman Eye Care Specialists in Baltimore changed the name of its contact lens division from National Contact Lens Associates to Azman Contact Lens Specialists.

Cornerstone, a Baltimore-based advertising agency, recently announced its affiliation with the MDK agency group based in San Diego.

The Sugarloaf Agency moved its advertising offices from Germantown to 200 Orchard Ridge Drive, Suite 215, in Gaithersburg.

Anne Arundel Community College, Office of Business and Employee Training, moved its operations from Baltimore-Washington International Airport to the Arundel Center North in Glen Burnie.

Mealey's Restaurant in New Market is reopening Oct. 1. The restaurant closed in April after a gas explosion.


Maryland National Bank won an award from the Bank Marketing Association for a television advertising campaign created by W. B. Doner and Co.

Mark Joseph Herbkersman, architect with Penza Boukhages Architects Inc. in Baltimore, won an award in a residential design competition co-sponsored by the American Institute of Architects and Baltimore Magazine. Mr. Herbkersman won the award for an addition to a Queen Anne-style Victorian house in Monkton.

Bruce E. Amrein, a human-factors engineer at the U.S. Army Human Engineering Laboratory, was named one of the Army Materiel Command's "Ten Outstanding Personnel of the Year."

J. C. Penney Co. is opening a Catalog Sales Center at Martin Plaza Shopping Center Oct. 9. Larry G. Valentine, manager of the J. C. Penney store at White Marsh Mall in eastern Baltimore County, will oversee the catalog center.

Ward, Klein & Miller, a regional law firm with offices in Gaithersburg, Greenbelt and Washington, opened a Columbia office at 5401 Twin Knolls Road, Suite 7. Jeffrey R. Miller is the resident partner for the Columbia location.

Beard and Light opened a law practice at 170 West St. in Annapolis. Christopher L. Beard and Barbara A. Light head the office.

DR&Associates, a Towson-based resume preparation and business writing company, opened a downtown Baltimore location at 16 S. Calvert St.
