Retired Lt. Col. Eugene Chandler, equal employment manager for the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, received the silver presidential medallion from his alma mater, North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, N.C.

He was selected for his many contributions to community and country since he was graduatedfrom the university in 1951.

Chandler, of Aberdeen, was one of 100 former graduates honored atthe school's centennial banquet.

Other graduates receiving the award included general officers, state senators and delegates, as well as college and university presidents.

EVANS HEADS PHARMACY

Tom Evans, of Bel Air, has been named director of pharmacy at Fallston General Hospital.

A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Evans earned a master's degree in administrative sciences from Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to coming to Fallston General, he was director of pharmacy at Homewood Hospital South. He also was onthe pharmacy staffs at Mount Washington Pediatric and Franklin Square hospitals.

Evans is a member of the American and Maryland Societies of Hospital Pharmacies.

Fallston General's pharmacy is managedby Owen Healthcare.

MULDRON WINS CONTEST

Laverne Muldron, of Essex, was the winner of the Mallywood contest conducted at Harford Mall,Bel Air, last May.

Muldron is now in Los Angeles, representing Harford Mall in the International Mallywood Finals. She will be awardeda $5,000 shopping spree at Harford Mall if she is successful in winning the final contest.

NAMED TO COMMITTEE

Councilman Barry Glassman, R-District D, was named to the Agricultural and Rural Affairs Steering Committee of the National Association of Counties.

A first term councilman, Glassman hopes to take advantage of his committee assignment to discuss future proposals for agricultural preservation and rural planning.
