A 50-year-old Annapolis woman was assaulted and robbed as she walkedto her car on West Street Wednesday night.

At about 8 p.m., the woman was walking in the 2000 block of West Street when a man hit her on the head from behind.

The robber hit her twice more and took her purse before running behind the drug store nearby.

Police described the robber as a black man about 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a light blue shirt and darkpants.


A Jessup man was chargedwith robbing a Severn doughnut shop Monday, county police reported.

Police said a man walked into Charles Doughnuts in the 2600 block of Annapolis Road about 1 p.m., went behind the counter and took $24 from the cash register.

The clerk ran out of the store screaming and alerted two employees of a dry cleaning store nearby. Those employees went to the doughnut store and chased the robber out.

The witnesses said the man went into a 7-Eleven store, bought a pack of cigarettes and ran into the woods.

Officers arrived and arrested Michael Neal Harmon, 24, of the 2000 block of Jessup Road, Jessup.


A 24-year-old Glen Burnie man has been charged with indecent exposure after police said he exposed himself to a woman at a gas station.

Lee Matthew Cookson, 24, of the 300 block Old Stage Road, exposed himself to a woman outside the Shell gas station in the 300 block of Hospital Drive in Glen Burnie, police said.

Police said they found Cookson with another man in a van parkednext to the Shell station and charged him.

6300 block of Lions Gate Lane:Sept. 24, entry gained through the door. Tools taken. Loss: $1,300.


100 block of Meadow Road: Sept. 18. Jewelry taken. Loss: $700.
