A retired Annapolis business executive recently established MedClaims Services Inc., offering assistance to hundreds of Anne Arundel countians facing health care insurance claims problems.
Frederick "Bud" Daley, who previously managed an electronic device manufacturing firm, says MedClaims Services caters to people with a substantial number of health care insurance claims.
MedClaims will act on behalf of anyone who must submit claims to any insurance carrier, including Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Medicare and companies selling "medigap" policies, he says. It provides a computerized system that tracks each bill, checks for accuracy and provides a permanent record.
Each bill is scrutinized to spot errors and omissions, the two primary causes of delayed payments and rejections. The client is required only to mail each medical bill, when received, to MedClaims, which does the processing and follow-through.
Daley says that at year's end, the claimant is provided a complete reportof all expenses and receipts for income tax deduction purposes. MedClaims is also able to reconstruct a claimant's medical payments record in cases where bills or claim forms are missing. For this service, an additional charge is made.
The firm is a participating member of the Baltimore Better Business Bureau.
MedClaims Services Inc. islocated at 1 Georgetown Court, Annapolis. Information: 269-6930.
