Two men robbed an Ellicott City convenience store Saturday after threatening to kill a store employee, county police said.
The men entered the High's store in the 9000 block of Frederick Road shortly before 10:35 p.m., and one of them pulled out a handgun. He threatened to kill the employee if he did not turn over money from the cash register, police said.
The clerk handed over an undisclosed sum, and the men left the store, police said. The clerk was not injured.
HEAD-ON COLLISION INJURES 2 MOTORISTS
Two motorists were seriously injured Monday in a head-on collision on Route 27 in Mount Airy, county police said.
The accident occurred at 1:05 p.m. near Penn Shop Road, when a northboundFord Explorer driven by Peter Parker, 41, of Frederick crossed the center line and collided with a car driven by Vernon Christian, 26, ofBoonesboro, police said.
The men were flown by helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where they both were listed in fair and stable condition yesterday.
Police said the cause ofthe accident is still under investigation, and no citations have been issued.
CONVENIENCE STORES WARNED OF ROBBERS
County police are warning area convenience stores to keep an eye out for two men who have robbed three county stores this month, a police spokesman said.
Investigators have determined that the three robberies are related asa result of the similar descriptions of the robbers at each store, Sgt. Gary L. Gardner said.
In all three cases, two men announced a robbery and pulled a gun on an employee. No one has been injured in any of the incidents.
The first robbery occurred Sept. 2 at the Amoco convenience store station in the 5800 block of U.S. 1 in Elkridge,and another was reported Sept. 4 at the High's store in the 7600 block of Murray Hill Road in Columbia.
The most recent robbery took place Sept. 14 in Ellicott City, when the two men robbed the Royal Farm store in the 4200 block of Montgomery Road, Gardner said.

10300 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: Sept. 12, a 1990 Honda Accord was reported stolen at 9:45 p.m. from the parking lot at The Mall at Columbia.
10200block of Little Patuxent Parkway: Sept. 13, a 41-year-old Columbia woman was robbed of $10 by a man who approached her after she left herworkplace and threatened her with a steak knife. When the robber demanded her jewelry, the victim jumped into her car and locked the door. The suspect then left the area.
12100 block of Little Patuxent Parkway: Sept. 11, a 1982 Chevrolet El Camino was stolen sometime overnight from a residential parking area.
7100 block of Mink Hollow Road: Sept. 11, someone entered a home through a ground-level window shortly before 1 p.m. and ransacked several rooms. Nothingwas reported missing from the home. The area has been the site of several recent daytime burglaries in which jewelry was taken.
