Dawn Bunyon, the new director of marketing for Eastpoint Mall, comes to Baltimore with a degree in fashion marketing and her MBA. She has been sent here to oversee the reopening of Eastpoint Mall on Oct. 16. She grew up in Belmont, Mass. and spent most of her summers at her family's Maine beach house. Since she spends most of her time working around stores, she always manages to find time to shop. How would you describe your taste in clothing?
Corporate -- Anne Klein type stuff during the week and always very casual on weekends. I'm a natural fiber person who prefers wool, leather, silk and cotton clothing. I wear bright, spicy florals and, since my colors are winter, lots of blacks and whites.
What's the newest thing in your closet?
Since I shop all the time, it's hard to remember. It's one of two things -- my 'Save the Planet' pink leather Hard Rock Cafe bomber jacket or a big Japanese mink coat. The lapel is trimmed with black curly lamb all the way to the floor.
What's the oldest thing in your closet?
A white shantung silk suit that my mom wore on her honeymoon 30 years ago. It's a classic Chanel look that was made for her and I can wear it now.
Do you have a standby outfit, that you can put on at any time and feel good?
Yes, it's a black wool crepe jacket and trousers by Anne Klein.
What is your wardrobe weakness?
I really buy lots of everything and it's hard for me to say. Maybe it's cosmetics, shoes and gaudy costume jewelry. I bet I have 50 lipsticks and more than 200 pairs of shoes.
What's the most expensive item in your closet?
Probably my fur coat, but I did get it on sale.
What's the best buy in your closet?
I get so many things on sale, but my best bargain was a black North Beach leather jacket that goes down to my knees. The price started at $500 and I paid $50 after all the discounts.
What's the wildest outfit you ever bought?
I have a really neat jacket, a knock-off of a military jacket, that has lots of tapestry and lace hanging off the shoulders. Some people might consider it a little wild.
What are your favorite accessories?
Long gold and silver beads. And I wear lots of pins, even on sweat shirts, two or three at a time. I like all accessories.
Do you have any shopping tips you'd like to share?
I would recommend looking at fashion mags to see what's in style, then trying to coordinate the seasons around those choices. Buy on sale and remember, you can never go wrong with black.
