Volunteers/ Where good neighbors get together

Current volunteers' news and needs:

Mid-Town Community Churches Association. To help fund a 30-bed extra care facility being established by the association, its volunteers are holding a fund-raiser called Septemberfest '91, from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Friends School at 5114 N. Charles St. The party will include a gourmet box lunch, door prizes, live music, street performers, a live radio show and more.

The radio show, called the ''Clash of the Talk Show Titans II,'' will feature WBAL-radio's Allan Prell, Ron Smith and Evening Sun columnist Dan Rodricks.

Tickets, which include the box lunch, are $25 adults and $15 for children under age 10. A portion of each ticket is tax-deductible. For details call 889-3001.

Family Support Foundation and the Dunbar Middle School wants volunteers to act as chaperones for after-school activities at the school's youth center. Call 783-5562.

Baltimore County Office of Personnel wants retired adults to help in various county agencies, offering their current skills or developing new job skills. The county offers flexible hours, on the job experience and training plus pleasant conditions. Call Bea Newman at 887-3219.
