William E. Kallas has been named vice president/director of marketing at the Irving, Texas, headquarters of Greiner Inc. Kallas has spent 17 years in the engineering company's local offices, most recently as manager of marketing and sales for the Northeast and Midwest United States. Barbara F. Johnson has been named sales representative for Ceiling Seal Inc., a ceiling tile resurfacing company and a division of Copeland Construction Services Inc., with corporate headquarters in Columbia. Johnson was formerly a district manager for McGraw Hill's Sweet's division that publishes Sweet's catalog.

* Bruce A. Calvert has become the Total Quality Management facilitator for the McCormick Flavor Group of McCormick & Co. In that job, he will serve as a resource to all locations in an effort to determine barriers to productivity and customer service. Calvert joined McCormick in 1971 and recently was the human relations manager for the Flavor Manufacturing Center and the Food Service Spice Plant. Dr. Mark Brenner has been hired by the Timonium radiology firm of Drs. Schultze, Snider and Associates to be chief of its radiation oncology operation at Sinai Hospital. Brenner focuses clinically on the treatment of all adult tumors. He has an interest and specialized training in breast cancer therapy. Brenner has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a medical degree from Tufts University. After an intership at New England Deaconess Hospital, he completed a residency in radiation therapy at the Joint Center for Radiation Therapy at Harvard Medical School.

* Dr. Robert W. Gibson, the president and chief executive officer of Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Health System in Towson, has been elected to the executive council of the Maryland Hospital Association. He will also chair the MHA's standing policy committee on association development. Gibson, an internationally nown psychiatrist and mental health advocate, has been associated with Sheppard Pratt Hospital since 1960. Brian Worthington has been named an account manager for PS Graphics Inc., a commercial printing company located in Rosedale. Worthington has worked in the graphic communications field for seven years in both sales and production.

On the board:

Bruce D. Alexander, senior vice president of the Rouse Co., has been elected chairman of the Goucher College Board of Trustees. A Goucher trustee since 1982, he will serve a three-year term as head of the 60-member board.


Annie K. Kronk has been named special assistant to the

president and director of the Office of State and Local Affairs at Johns Hopkins University. She will report directly to the president.

Kronk will direct and manage the university's relations with the governor's office, the Maryland General Assembly, the Maryland Higher Education Commission, and other state agencies and departments.

On the local level, she will direct and manage the university's relations with the mayor's, the Baltimore City Council, and local agencies and organizations.

Kronk formerly served as executive assistant to the university's s senior vice president for administration.

* Vigen Guroian, associate professor of theology and ethics at Loyola College, has been named one of 25 adjunct fellows at the Heritage Foundation's Henry Salvatori Center for Academic Leadership.

Guroian has been teaching at Loyola since 1981 and is the author of Incarnate Love: Essays in Orthodox Ethics.

Located on Capitol Hill, the Heritage Foundation is a prominent public policy research center. During their two-year term, 1991 Salvatori fellows will participate in the center's academic leadership program.
