The Maryland State Bar Association has appointed Delegate Mary Lou Preis, D-District, a member of its planning committee.
As a member of this group, Preis will assist in the overall long range-planning process for the State Bar and its attorney members for the next five years.
The committee assesses current public service projects and helps establish goals and programs to better serve the public and the needsof the legal profession.
In addition to her service on the planning committee, Preis continues to serve a member of the bar association's editorial advisory board, which she chaired for the past three years.
GOP APPOINTS RYDER
Joan Ryder, of Fallston, has been appointed to the Harford County Republican Central Committee by state party Chairman Joyce Terhes.
Ryder's term will begin immediately, fillinga vacancy created in March. She brings a high level of energy and fund-raising skills to the committee.
Ryder is an associate broker for The Prudential Preferred Properties in Bel Air.
The Republican Central Committee acts as the steering committee for Republican activities in the County.
