Two Men Rob Clerk In Mall

County police were looking for the men who robbed a Montgomery Ward clerk on Thursday in Glen Burnie.

Police said the clerk was on herway to a bank in the Glen Burnie Mall to deposit the store's receipts at about 9 p.m. when a man ran up behind her and shoved her down. He grabbed the money and ran out of the mall with another man.

They were last seen getting into a dark blue Datsun with Pennsylvania tags YES-578. Police described the first robber as a black man about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was in his 30s.The second robber was described as a black man in his late teens or early 20s.


A 30-year-old Cape Saint Claire man was arrested on drug possession charges in Annapolis after police searched his truck.

Steven A. Jeren, of the 1000 blockof St. Margarets Avenue, was arrested after police pulled over his late-model Ford pickup truck outside the Robinwood public housing complex at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

Police stopped thetruck after an officer on surveillance in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue saw a suspected drug transaction, police said.

A search of the truck turned up a small amount of cocaine and marijuana, police said.


A masked gunman robbed the Big Red gas station in Glen Burnie Wednesday, county police reported.

Police said the gunman walked into the station in the 7700 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. and threatened to kill the clerk if the clerk did not give him the money.

The clerk opened the register and the robber grabbed the money. He was seen getting into a gray Mazda driven by another man.

Police described the gunman as black, wearing blue jeans, a blue jacket and a black ski mask.

400 block of Autumn Valley Court: Sept. 18, entry gained through the door. Jewelry and money taken. Total loss: Unknown.


1500 block of Grays Ford Road: Sept. 19, entry gained through the window. Unknown property taken.

Glen Burnie:

800 block of Elkridge Landing Road: Sept. 19, entry gained through the door. Jewelry taken. Total loss: $1,500.


8200 block of Brandon Drive: Sept. 17, entry gained through the door. Nothing taken.
