Here's what to look for if you're traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
New highway projects
Warren Road at Route 45 is closed for approximately 30 days. Motorists should follow detour signs.
Bus route changes
The MTA has scheduled the following changes in bus routes for this week. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.
No. 64 -- Linthicum bus service will be extended to operate via Hammonds Lane between Ritchie Highway and Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard. There will be one morning and one afternoon trip.
New schedules are available for the following lines: 1, 2, 3, 5 (M-F), 7 (M-F), 9, 10, 11 (Riverview), 13, 14, 15 (Security Square Mall), 18, 23 (Route 40 West), 24, 31, 33, 35, 43, 64, 66, 160, and M-10.
Nos. 9, 18 (Warren Road service) -- Effective Wednesday and continuing until further notice, Warren Road at York Road will be closed because of construction, temporarily rerouting buses. Southbound via regular route on York to Warren, south on York, east and north on Scott Adam Road, east on Warren, then via regular route. Northbound via regular route to Warren and Scott Adam, south and west on Scott Adam, north on York to Warren, then via regular route.
No. 28 (Mondawmin and Northern branches)
Until further notice, buses will travel the following route because of construction of the Central Light Rail Line. Also, buses will not operate on Park Avenue between Howard and McMechen streets.
Northbound via regular route to Russell and Conway streets, north on Russell, north on Paca Street, east on Baltimore Street, north on Eutaw Street, east on McMechen, north on Park, then via regular route. Southbound via regular route to Park and McMechen, west on McMechen, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard Street, then via regular route.
