A 9-year-old Brooklyn Park boy was robbed of his bicycle Tuesday outside the Brooklyn Park Plaza, county police said.

Police said the boy was riding his bike when another boy walked up to him and demanded money. When the boy said he didn't have any money, the other boy pushed him from his bike and rode off toward Ritchie Highway.

Police described the robber as a 13-year-old black male.

A county officer drove the 9-year-old around the neighborhood looking for the bike but they could not find it.


A 28-year-old Pasadena man was charged with assault after police said he tried to take his daughter away from her mother Tuesday. The man said he was granted the right to see the child and showed policea court visitation order.

County police said officers were called to the Freetown Medical Center at about 8:45 A.m. for a domestic assault.

The mother of the 7-month-old girl told the officers that she had brought the baby to the clinic for a cxheckup when her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Edward Turnbaugh of the 200 block of Kentucky Avenue, drove up.

As the couple struggled, police said, Turnbaugh bit his ex-girlfriend on her hand. He grabbed the baby, putting the child in his car, the police report said. The child's grandmother reached intothe car and turned the engine off and took the keys,

Police said Turnbaugh then ran away, carrying the baby. The officer caught Turnbaugh and returned the child to her mother.

Turnbaugh showed the officers a court visitation order that said he could see the child during hours on Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays.


A 33-year-old Bowie woman was robbed after she used a pay phone on Route 3 in Crofton early yesterday morning.

Police said the woman stopped her car at Route 3 and Davidsonville Road at12:30 a.m. and two men pushed her to the ground.

They threatened to kill her if she did not give them her car keys. After giving them the keys, they drove off.

Police described the first suspect as a black man, 6 feet tall, wearing a white tank top.

The second robber was also black, and wore a maroon top and jeans.
