Agnes Herbert, 92, math teacher, Waxter volunteer

Agnes Herbert, 92, a retired mathematics teacher who helped to start the senior citizens' program now at the Waxter Center, died Monday at Union Memorial Hospital after a stroke.

Funeral services were being held today at the Leroy M. and Russell C. Witzke funeral establishment, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville.

Miss Herbert, who lived in the Ambassador Apartments, retired in 1959 after about 40 years of teaching, first at the Woodberry Elementary School and then at the Clifton Park Junior High School and the Edmondson High School.

Survivors include a brother, Leslie E. Herbert of Devon, Pa.; a sister, Naomi H. Schaefer of Catonsville; and several nieces and nephews.
