Clarification

September 18, 1991

In a Sept. 15 story in The Carroll County Sun on the Carroll TransitSystem and its new director, Linda R. Boyer, former director CharlesNason was quoted as being critical of the way the system's board of directors hired Boyer.

While disagreeing with the way the board hired Boyer, Nason said he does not disagree with its right to do so. He also said he does not disagree with the board's position of making the private, non-profit system a more comprehensive public transportation service.

Nason, who was replaced by Boyer in April, said the board asked him to resign because it no longer could afford to pay his $24,000 annual salary.
