The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra is playing it safe the first time out. As part of a fund raiser, the symphony is selling cases of wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon for $115 per case and a Chardonnay for $105. Each case has 12 bottles.
Susan Mehiel, program coordinator for the Baltimore Symphony Associates, the BSO's fund-raising arm, said a cabernet and chardonnay were chosen because they are familiar to most people. She said the associates plan to make this an annual event. Each bottle has a special BSO label, making the wines perfect for holiday gifts or corporate giving, she said.
