Four juveniles flee from Hickey School

September 16, 1991

Four juvenile offenders escaped from the Charles H. Hickey Jr. School in Baltimore County yesterday just before they were to get on a bus to the campus visitor's center.

One was captured shortly after the 1:25 p.m. escape.

Bruce Bishop, the detention services director of the school, whose operation was turned over to a private contractor this month, said the four youths were about to board a bus to the visitor's center when they darted from the school's campus, located in the Cub Hill area.

Each of the youths was ordered confined at the school for "lesser charges" and was not considered dangerous, Mr. Bishop said.
