Grant Aids Talent Search

September 15, 1991

Anne Arundel Community College is using a $140,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Education in a three-year Talent Search program to increase participation of county low-income, first-generation and minority youth and young adults in higher education.

The grant will help the county to meet state goals of lower dropout rates, improved school attendance and passing grades on mandatory state reading, math, writing and citizenship tests.

Initiatives will include assisting middle and high school students to improve academic performance and standardized test scores.
