COLUMBIA — Chase Brae Apartments to be sold at auction

The Chase Brae Apartments, a 170-unit complex on Murray Hill Road in Columbia, will be sold at an auction on the premises starting at 2 p.m. Sept. 17. Atlantic Auctions is handling the auction, a foreclosure sale on behalf of Phoenix Mutual Insurance Co.

SEMINAR

'Coping in the '90s' offered at Center Club

The Maryland chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks will present an educational seminar entitled "Coping in the '90s: Workouts and Bankruptcies," on Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Center Club inside the USF&G tower at Pratt and Light streets.

Approved for 1.5 hours of real estate continuing education, the ,, seminar will include presentations by Marc B. Sherman, an accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, and Irving Walker and Richard Levine, attorneys with Miles and Stockbridge. The attendance fee is $25 per person if it is received before Sept. 23.

The work of architect Steve Glassman and his design firm, Art and Architectural Design, is on display during school hours through the end of September in the exhibit gallery of Park School on Old Court Road in Brooklandville.

Russett development to have formal opening

ANNE ARUNDEL

Russett, a major new community in Anne Arundel County, will hold its formal opening Wednesday, Oct. 2, beginning at 9:30 a.m. County Executive Robert R. Neall will attend.

The project will have 3,000 detached houses, town houses, condominiums and apartments. Prices start in the $150,000s for detached houses and in the $120,000s for town houses.

The development also will include two swimming pools, six tennis courts, a community center, paved trails, 10 playgrounds, four basketball courts and a 150-acre nature preserve.

Russett is being developed by Coscan/Adler Limited Partnership, a Canadian company, and Lovell Land Inc., an English company.

Eight builders are involved in the project: Hallmark Builders, Lovell Regency Homes, Miller & Smith Homes, NV Homes, Trafalgar House Residential, Ryan Homes, Pulte Homes and Richmond American.

Russett is located off Route 198, near its intersection with the Baltimore/Washington Parkway.
