A 32-year-old homeless man has been charged with assault with a knife in Glen Burnie early yesterday morning, police said.
William Stanley Hepburn was arrested after residents of Third Avenue called police when Hepburn and another man began arguing.
As neighbors watched, Hepburn threatened to stab the man with a knife, the police report said.
By the time officers arrived, Hepburn had ridden away on a 10-speed bicycle. Police picked him up on Aquahart Road and brought him back to Third Avenue, to be where witnessesidentified him.
He was taken to Northern District station and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
ARGUMENT LEADS TO ASSAULT ARREST
A Pasadena man has been charged with assault with intent to murder after he tried to shoot another man in Freetown Village Aug. 30,police said.
Gregory D. Horne, 29, Circle Road at about 2 a.m. when he got into an argument with three men.
The men hit him on the back of the head with a small handgun and kicked him. They took his wallet, watch and wedding band.
Police gave no description to the assailants.
D.C. MAN ACCUSED OF POSSESSING DRUGS
A 31-year-old Washington man was arrested on drug charges after Annapolis police said they found crack cocaine, PCP and marijuana in his pocket.
An officer spotted Zachary S. Johnson sitting on the porch of a Clay Street home smoking a marijuana cigarette about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
When he saw the officer the suspect threw the cigarette on the ground, police said.
The officer searched Johnson and found $260worth of crack cocaine, PCP (phencyclidine hydrochloride) and marijuana in a medicine bottle in his pocket, police said. Police also seized $120.
Johnson was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of marijuana, cocaine and PCP.
He was released from the county detention center Wednesday after paying $25,000 bond.
REWARD OFFERED FOR ROBBERY TIPS
A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of a suspect in the June 22 robbery of an Annapolis cab driver.
Police described the suspect as a 20-year-old black male, about 150 pounds, witha medium complexion. He was wearing a white sweat shirt.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Crime Solvers of Annapolis at 267-8888 and refer to case number 91-036.
