The Maryland Small Business Development Center has received a $50,400 federal grant to encourage the transfer of technology to small businesses.
The money was awarded by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology.
"These funds will help the small-business owners out there that are looking for technology that will make their businesses more competitive," said Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, D-Md., who announced the award. Mikulski is a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business. The grant is intended to improve productivity and competitiveness by linking small businesses with commercial, on-line data services and technical information services.
