This is a weekly summary of selected prime contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.

Maryland contracts

SFA Inc. in Landover won a $292,502 contract from the Navy to provide research and development.

Non-defense contracts

Aspen Systems Corp. in Rockville won a $139,684,265 contract from the Department of Justice to provide litigation support services for the civil division.

John J. Kirlin in Rockville won a $1,787,870 contract from the Goddard Space Flight Center to provide construction of a electrochemical plating facility.

Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Co. in Timonium won a $1,049,000 contract from the Army to provide maintenance dredging in the Norfolk, Va., harbor.

Ideas in Columbia won a $698,219 contract from the Goddard Space Flight Center for mechanical and electronic space hardware fabrication services.

R&N Contractors Inc. in White Plains won a $143,000 contract from the Navy to upgrade Building 53 at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington.
