New positions

USTravel named Steve Pomranz senior vice president of sales and David Wardell vice president of information systems.

E.I. Kane Intermodal Transport Inc., a subsidiary of E. I. Kane Inc., a trucking company devoted to the transportation of steamship containers, railroads, piggyback trailers and truckload shipments, named Ted J. Bembenek Jr. vice president of sales and marketing at its Baltimore headquarters.

Bruning Paint Co. named David A. Quinn senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Quinn comes from Black & Decker Co., where he was vice president-finance of various subsidiary operations.

Baltimore Urban League Inc. named B. Denise Hawkins director of public relations.

Mid-Atlantic Country named Randy Bartow president. Mr. Bartow joins the magazine after 15 years as a partner in the Regardie publishing companies in Washington, D.C.

Genstar Stone Products Co., a producer of aggregates, ready-mix concrete and asphalt paving products, appointed David M. Slaughter area sales manager.

Gourmet-to-Go, the catering arm of Carrol's Creek Restaurant in Annapolis, named Terri Smith Snyder manager.

Office of Economic Development in Harford County named James D. Fielder Jr. director of economic development.

First Home Mortgage Corp. in Baltimore named Carl Hartman branch manager.

Classic Catering People, an off-premises caterer based in Owings Mills, named Anne Fishman and Mark Thompson senior account executives; Terri Young and Liz Brune account executives; Scott Button associate account executive; Judy Ringle contract coordinator; and Lisa Bills administrative assistant.

Benchmark Construction Co. Inc. named Jeffrey P. Merritt vice president of marketing; Paul P. Barry vice president of estimating; Michael K. Callahan vice president of construction; and Elizabeth S. Gallo vice president of accounting.

The Salvation Army of Greater Baltimore, a member of the United Way of Central Maryland, named Firman F. Kistler Jr. comptroller.

Hallmark Builders named Manon "Mo" Weymouth sales manager for Howard County. Ms. Weymouth was selected as 1990 rookie of the year for new-home sales by the Sales & Marketing Council of the Homes Builders Association of Maryland.

IKEA, a home furnishings retailer in White Marsh, named David Lecher store manager. Mr. Lecher was manager of the IKEA store in Pittsburgh.
