Lee Wilhide was appointed the the Retail Board of Directors of the Society of American Florist.
Wilhide was elected to the board during the society's 121st annual convention last month in Hawaii.
The society is a national floral organization representing the industry. Wilhide was the newest member of the board to be elected by the 15,000 member group.
Wilhide owns four flower stores in Howard County.
KLENKE NAMED AT BC
Martin Klenke has been named head of staff reporting to the chief operating officer if Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Maryland.
Klenke's activities will include the integration ofthe HMO operations of CareFirst and Columbia-Free State.
SON NO. 3 IS EAGLE SCOUT
Michael Healey of Cooksville became the third son ofDavid Sr. and Marianne Healey to become an Eagle Scout. Michael, whograduated from Glenelg High School, will attend the University of Maryland at College Park this fall and is a member of Troop 882.
Michael's two older brother each earned the award with David becoming anEagle Scout in 1983 and Tim in 1986.
For his community service project, Michael, 18, refurbished and improved the landscaping at Centennial Park -- weeding, cleaning and remulching many shrubbery beds.
