F. Scott Key Eagles

1991 Volleyball Outlooks

September 08, 1991

Coach: Leo Totten, first year

Assistant Coach: Kathy Little

Last year's record: 8-7 overall, 6-7 in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League, 0-1 in the county

Top returnees: Seniors, Tina Hahn, Mindy Keeney

Top newcomers: Juniors, Shelley Smith, Tina Smith and Kristi Stambaugh; sophomore, Amber Smith.

Coach's comments: "It'llbe a great season. They're great to work with. If the team plays together, the individual stats will take care of themselves."

The Carroll County Sun's outlook: It appears the Eagles have very little experience coming back from last year's 8-7 team. But don't let that fool you, they have a handful of young players from last year's 13-2 junior varsity team itching to play at the varsity level. A definite strength is serving, where the Eagles produce many aces. Seniors Hahn and Keeney will be relied upon heavily to provide leadership to a quality group of young players. If the newcomers can maintain their poise and develop an aggressive style of play, they can be a major factor in the MVAL.
