Coach's comments: "We have a pretty good combination of seniors and juniors. Last year we were pretty successful onthe junior varsity and varsity levels."

The Carroll County Sun's outlook: The Panthers are coming off a solid year highlighted by an upset win over Franklin in the regional playoffs. They have a solid nucleus of experienced players coming back. Senior Jackson leads the attack up front. She will need a newcomer or two to step forward to help in the scoring. Goalkeeper Heindel, also a senior, will anchor the defense and provide much needed leadership. Senior Martin also shouldhelp out defensively. Key may be the midfield, where a pair of juniors -- Douglas and Hewes -- will be relied upon to control the middle of the field. The team is well-balanced, but there is some inexperience in spots. If the new and old players can blend well together, the Panthers could do well. Look for the Panthers to be at or near the top in both the county and CMC race.
