Top newcomers:BOYS -- Senior, Brendon Duvall; juniors, Jay Merker, Wade Shank; freshman, Nate Shank. GIRLS -- Senior, Stephanie Morningstar; junior, Ann Luers

Coach's comments: BOYS -- "It's supposed to be a rebuilding year. But we had so many good new guys come out, the question is experience. They're really enthusiastic and real optimistic." GIRLS -- "(Stephanie Morningstar) gives us a person who can score high. It gives us a low number at that first position."

The Carroll County Sun's outlook: BOYS -- With such a young team, state and region titles may be a little out of reach, but a good showing in the county and CMCis likely. With a talented group of juniors, the Owls likely are a year away from being a state contender. GIRLS -- This team is loaded, and the addition of Morningstar makes the Owls a contender for regionand state honors. Westminster's in a tough region, but that should make them even better for the state meet.
