Here's what to look for if you're traveling in the Baltimore metropolitan area this week. This list of highway projects includes only newly announced work, not continuing construction, which is extensive on several highways, including Interstate 95, U.S. 50/301 and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

New highway projects

Warren Road at Route 45 will be closed for approximately 30 days. Motorists should follow detour signs.

Bus route changes

The MTA has scheduled the following changes in bus routes for this week. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

Parade

The "I Am An American Day" parade around Patterson Park in East Baltimore today necessitates the following route changes. The parade begins at approximately 1:45 p.m. The temporary routes will be put into effect as the parade progresses.

No. 7 -- Eastbound via regular route on Pratt Street to Caroline Street, south on Caroline, east on Eastern Avenue to Patterson Park Avenue, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route northbound on Patterson Park Avenue to Eastern, west on Eastern, north on Caroline, west on Lombard, then via regular route.

No. 10 -- Eastbound via regular route on Pratt to Caroline, south on Caroline, east on Eastern to Broadway, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route on Eastern to Broadway, west on Eastern, north on Caroline, west on Lombard, then via regular route.

No. 13 (Canton branch) -- Eastbound via regular route southbound on Linwood Avenue to Fairmount Avenue, east on Fairmount, south on East Avenue to Baltimore Street, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route northbound on East to Baltimore, north on East, west on Fairmount, north on Linwood, then via regular route.

No. 13 (Fells Point branch) -- Eastbound via regular route southbound on Wolfe Street. Layover at Pratt. Westbound from the layover, southbound on Wolfe at Pratt, south on Wolfe, east on Gough Street, north on Washington Street, then via regular route.

No. 20 -- Eastbound via regular route on Baltimore to Washington, north on Washington, east on Fayette, south on East, east on Baltimore, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route on Baltimore to East, north on East, west on Fairmount, south on Chester Street, west on Baltimore, then via regular route.

No. 19

These diversions will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. today because of the Parkville Town Center Fair.

Parkville service -- Northbound via regular route to Harford Road and Taylor Avenue, west on Taylor, south on Oak Avenue, east on Taylor, south on Harford to the layover at Linganore Avenue. ** Southbound from layover, south on Harford at Linganore, then ++ via regular route south on Harford.

Carney service -- Northbound via regular route to Harford and Taylor, west on Taylor, north on Old Harford Road, east on Putty Hill Avenue, north on Harford, then via regular route. Southbound via regular route to Harford and Putty Hill, west on Putty Hill, south on Old Harford, east on Taylor, south on Harford, then via regular route.

No. 13

No. 13 -- Because of a block party from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, the following temporary route will be in effect. Eastbound via regular route south on Milton Street to Biddle Street, west on Biddle, south on Montford Avenue, east on Chase Street, south on Milton, then via regular route. Westbound via regular route north on Milton to Chase, west on Chase, north on Montford, east on Biddle, north on Milton, then via regular route.

No. 23

Eastern Boulevard between Mace and Woodward avenues will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. today for the "Essex Day" festival, necessitating the following temporary routes:

Eastbound to Middle River via regular route to Eastern and Mace, north on Mace, east on Dorsey Avenue, south on Woodward, east on Eastern, then via regular route. Westbound from Middle River via regular route to Eastern and Woodward, north on Woodward, west on Dorsey, south on Mace, west on Eastern, then via regular route. Eastbound to Essex via regular route to Eastern and Mace, north on Mace, east on Dorsey, south on Stuart Avenue, west on Eastern to layover on Eastern. Westbound from Essex layover, west on Eastern, north on Woodward, west on Dorsey, south on Mace, west on Eastern, then via regular route.

Return to regular route

Nos. 33 and 61 (limited service) -- Bridge construction has been completed westbound on Cold Spring Lane at Stony Run Bridge, near Linwood Road. Westbound buses have returned to regular routes on Cold Spring Lane at Charles Street.

Route change

No. 210 (Cape St. Claire/U.S. 50 service) -- Effective immediately, the regular route of the No. 210 Cape St. Claire/U.S. 50 service will be changed.

Southbound via regular route east and southbound on College Parkway, last stop opposite Commander Way. Northbound from layover point west and north on College Parkway on the far side of Commander Way, then via regular route.

Continuing diversions

Nos. 9 and 18 (Warren Road service) -- Warren Road at York Road is closed for construction. Southbound via regular route on York to Warren, south on York, east and north on Scott Adam Road, east on Warren, then via regular route. Northbound via regular route to Warren and Scott Adam, south and west on Scott Adam, north on York to Warren, then via regular route.

No. 28 (Mondawmin and Northern branches) -- Buses will travel the following route because of light rail construction. Buses will not operate on Park Avenue between Howard and McMechen streets: Northbound via regular route to Russell and Conway streets, north on Russell, north on Paca Street, east on Baltimore Street, north on Eutaw Street, east on McMechen, north on Park, then via regular route. Southbound via regular route to Park and McMechen, west on McMechen, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard Street, then via regular route.
