Man's slaying investigated

Baltimore police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old East Baltimore man who was shot in the head about four blocks from his home shortly before midnight.

The victim, Jackson Ellerbee, of the 1300 block of N. Central Ave., died from two bullet wounds to the head and was found lying on the steps of a house in the 1400 block of E. Lanvale St. at 11:55 last night. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police have not determined a motive for the shooting. They said he clutched a $5 bill in his hands.
