Misconduct Hearing Postponed

September 04, 1991

A county police internal affairs hearing into alleged misconduct by two officers has been postponed while attorneys prepare additional evidence, a county police spokesman said yesterday.

The police officers, Victor Riemer and Ricky Johnson, are charged with using excessive force to break up a loud party at a Jessup motel on Jan. 5, 1990. Atrial board of three county police officers is overseeing the hearing.

Additional evidence is expected to be presented at the hearing, including taped testimony from a grand jury proceeding last year that acquitted the officers of criminal charges, said police spokesman Michael Sherman.

The taped evidence has been requested by Clark Ahlers, an attorney representing the two officers.

A new date for the hearing, which originally had been scheduled for yesterday, has not been set, Sherman said.
