Cunningham is out for year other ail

An injury on the NFL's first weekend of play claimed Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham for the rest of the season. He will undergo surgery to repair his injured left knee.

Dr. Vincent DiStefano said a magnetic resonance imaging test confirmed that Cunningham tore the medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments.

Other knee injuries knocked L.A. Raiders running ace Marcus Allen out for six weeks and Buffalo Bills defeensive tackle Jeff Wright out for at least a month. Cleveland Browns defender Raymond Clayborn was lost indefinitely with a broken leg.
