This is a weekly summary of selected prime contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.

Maryland contracts

Westinghouse Electric Corp. in Baltimore won a $5,249,870 contract from the Air Force to provide for engineering changes on the F-16 AN/APG-168 Fire-Control Radar Program.

Fairchild Defense in Germantown won an $895,595 contract from the Air Force to provide cable assemblies.

Defense research contracts

Universities Space Research Association in Columbia won a $958,723 contract from NASA to provide environmental research studies for aerospace systems development.

Quantex Corp. in Rockville won a $499,650 contract from the Air Force to research new architectures for optical memories on high-speed electronic computers.

University of Maryland in College Park won a $32,000 contract from the Army to research the continuation of the Rotor Craft Center of Excellence program.

Non-defense contracts

Good Food Services in Mount Ranier won a $1,975,528 contract from the Navy to provide mess attendant services.

Elevator Control Service in Upper Marlboro won a $750,000 contract from the General Services Administration to renovate freight elevators.

Michael's Construction Co. in Baltimore won a $565,255 contract from the Navy to provide door repair and replacement.

PEC Construction in Silver Spring won a $299,800 contract from the Navy to provide windows and doors in Building 2 at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington.

Callas Contractors Inc. in Hagerstown won a $265,462 contract from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to renovate a building.

Washington Data Systems Inc. in Landover won a $229,529 contract from the Internal Revenue Service to provide maintenance of IBM and IBM-compatible equipment.

Twigg Corp. in Capitol Heights won a $188,000 contract from the Navy to provide modifications for Building 2093 at the Naval Air Test Center, Naval Air Station, Patuxent River.

R & N Contractors Inc. in White Plains, Charles County, won a $104,000 contract from the Navy to provide an addition to the mini-mart at the Naval Air Test Center/Naval Air Station, Patuxent River.

Orion Contractors Inc. in Baltimore won a $101,995 contract from the Navy to repair Buildings 5 and 60 at the Naval Radio Transmitting Facility in Annapolis.

Depsco Service Inc. in Baltimore won a $48,730 contract from the General Services Administration to repair a skip hoist.
