Mount Hebron Vikings

Football 1991/going For The Goals

September 01, 1991

Coach: Steve Benninghove, fourth year

1990 record: 5-5

Returnees: Seniors Devin Breithaup (FB/NG), Brian Kunzle (WR/S), Chris Leinauer (LB/FL), Brian Machiran (T/DT), Mike Miller (QB/LB), Scott Wilhelm (G/DL).

Newcomers to watch: Seniors Jeff Heiser (TE/LB), Matt Dubbs (C/NG); juniors Steve Cugle (OL/DL), Mike Fadrowski (TB/DE), Travis Hairston (RB), Dan Hodges (G/DT), Sammy Kang (DE/FB), Greg Toney (DB), Brad Hudson (T/DT).

Coach's outlook: "We're smaller than we've been, but we've got more overall team speed than ever. The youth in the offensive line is a problem. On defense, we can really go after the ball. We'll be fighting for third place."

Howard County Sun outlook: Like every year, the Vikings lack size and depth. Hebron will depend almost exclusively on two-way players to carry the squad. Several standouts, such as Leinauer and Kunzle at receiver andsafety, should give the team stability. Miller has thrown the ball well in preseason, and Hairston's 4.6 speed should give Hebron an outside threat.
