September 01, 1991

Coach: Ed Holshue, second year

1990 record: 5-5.

Returnees: Seniors Damon Gloster (C), Charlie Stewart (G/LB), Eric Newcomb (T/DT), Chris Stavrou (G), Will McConarty (G), Shamus Gillen (TE/NG), Keith Greene (E/LB), Brian Kujawa (FB/LB), Sean West (RB/CB), Kevin Greene (FL/CB), Brian Reid (P/K), Jim Mahon (NG/G), Jim Bartel (DE); junior Lawrence Holmes (QB/S).

Newcomers to watch: Senior John Cheronoskie (DE); juniors Nathan Hunt (E), Bill Chedester (FL), Brent Mertes (T/DT), Joe McLaine (OL/DL); sophomore Don Galbreath (TB).

Coach's outlook: "We're looking to improve mostly on defense, and we should be strong up the middle defensively. The offensive line is still young, but they've gone by my expectations so far. We haven't thrown the ball well so far, but we should be able to move it on the ground. I like the direction in which we're headed. We have a chance to be respectable."

Howard County Sun outlook: The Eagles havemore overall speed than they've had in years, a potentially outstanding offensive backfield in Kujawa and West, and the league's top kicker/punter in Reid. If the defense stops the run with any consistency,Centennial could be looking at a third-place finish.
