Football 1991/the Teams, Coaches And Players

Coach: Macon Tucker, 10th year.

Assistants: Kevin Fleming, John Cathey, Nich Sartoria, Garfield Christy.

Last year's record: 8-2.

Top Newcomers: Scott Wilson (so., LM), Pete D'Amico (jr., FB), Jason Holiday (jr., G), Bobby Hector (jr., TE), Charles Harris (jr., TE), Brent Holden (sr., SE), Sean Brown (sr., SE), Darryl Turner (jr., SE), James Henderson (jr., G), Marcus Walton (jr., FB), Shawn Sims (sr., SE), Charles Hoffman (jr., QB) Sir Charles Kirksey (jr., C), Tim Johnson (sr., C), James Watkins (sr., LM).

Coach's outlook: We've got kids with good attitudes and that'sa plus, but we've got a lot of people who haven't played football before. But every year the same thing holds true in Harford County -- if you can stay healthy all year and have a little bit of luck on yourside, you're going to be there in the end.

Harford County Sun's outlook: The Eagles graduated 17 seniors last year, and return only seven players -- just four starters. Still, Tucker's squads can never be counted out. He has a few weapons back including Blackman (5-7, 160), the speediest Eagle out of a very fast backfield. Simons (6-7, 225) and Frank (6-3, 250) will anchor a strong line. The Eagles also have a promising crop of young talent. If they can catch on quickly, look for the Eagles to battle Edgewood and C. Milton Wright for the top spot. If not, they shouldn't land further down than third or fourth.
