Coach's outlook: We're just going to try to do the best we can each week. We've had several people sick or hurt during early practice, but we are doing pretty well. It will just take time for me to adjust to everything and for the kids to adjust to me.

Harford County Sun's outlook: After a 13-year break, Gray returns to the Patriots where he wasthe team's first varsity coach. High school football hasn't changed much since then, except that Gray still can't get over how big today's players are. On the line, the Patriots will have veterans Kuser (6-5, 290) and Lee (6-2, 245) as well as Bocek (6-2, 260) and Booth (6-2, 245), up from JV. John Carroll will take to the air more than last year with DeSantis and Wehberg as the primary receivers. Although their offense looks stronger than last year's, the Patriots will probably have some trouble stopping the county's high-powered attacks. Look for the Patriots to finish around .500.
