Two suspects arrested by Harford County sheriffs after a four-day chase with Pennsylvania police that included an exchange of gunfire have waived extradition and will be transferred back to Pennsylvania, said Deputy 1st Class DeWayne Curry, of the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Police say this is how the chase unfolded:

On Monday, two suspects reportedly stole a car in Lancaster, Pa.

By Thursday, the two suspects were spotted traveling through Hellam, Pa., where police took up the pursuit. Gunfire was exchanged. Theywere later spotted traveling through Windsor Township, Pa., and Stewartstown, Pa.

While in Windsor Township, police say the suspects were involved in a car accident. They then allegedly stole a second car after fleeing the scene of the accident on foot, police said.

OnThursday, a Stewartstown, Pa., officer picked up the chase and followed the suspects to Norrisville in northern Harford County. Harford County Sheriff's deputies using dogs tracked the suspects to where they were hiding, under a pine tree on Church Lane. No weapons were found.

Curry identified the arrested suspects as Shawn Wayne Waltman, 18, and Kevin David Lenox Jr., 18, both of Lancaster.

Curry said they both were charged with theft through the Windsor Township Police.
